Save The Planet With Fake Trees?



I had to check the calendar to make sure it wasn't April 1st when I came across this newspaper article in the Daily Mail. The Institution of Mechanical Engineers are suggesting we use fake trees to soak up CO2 emissions. Apparently real trees aren't efficient enough......

Leamington Food & Drink Festival 2009


Saturday August 29th & Sunday 30th August - Pump Room Gardens.






There will be cookery demonstrations, free tastings, stalls and live music.

Leamington's Transition Town group will have a stall there. Leamington became a Transition Town last year and is now committed to adapting to the challenges of climate change and peak oil.

Offenders gardening project hailed as a success

In a pilot-scheme in Rugby young offenders have been growing fruit and veg on an allotment, learning gardening, cooking and conservation skills. Some of the produce is donated to local Age Concern-run day care centres. The scheme may now be rolled out across Warwickshire.

Save the Walnut Tee Campaign

A campaign in Lillington to save the Walnut Tree pub from being turned into a Tesco Express has attracted worldwide interest. Tesco's have bought the pub but local people haven't given up their fight. The campaign has a website where you can sign an e-petition.
